The first version of the DCDS platform was tested during the piloting in the five project countries (Italy, Spain, Latvia, Romania and Greece) with successful results. The DAISSy research group of the Hellenic Open University, with the support of project partners and stakeholders, designed and developed a motivating and informative learning environment that builds on engaging learning materials and contemporary technologies.
The final version of the DCDS learning environment provides admirable features to the tutors and the learners, including
- An improved platform interface with recently accessed activities, resources, modules and improved graphics and functionalities.
- A virtual tour to the platform functionalities that helps learners to familiarize earlier with the provided tools and technologies.
- A new self-assessment tool with improved graphics supporting learners to self-assess their current digital competences.
- A new recommender tool that supports them in delivering the appropriate content to the learners based on their actual needs, enabling now the decisive learner to get the learning at his or her hands!
- A database with Open Educational Resources carefully selected and uploaded by the DCDS tutors.
- A new and immersive game developed for low digital skills adults, the DCDS Game!
The final version of the DCDS learning environment will be available in English, Italian, Spanish, Latvian, Romanian and Greek. It will support the blended learning approach, with learners starting the DCDS learning journey in class and engaging to the online platform gradually and remotely.
